Dr Ufuk BİLKAY
Dr. Ufuk Bilkay was born in 1966, in İzmir. Between the years 1984 and 1990, he fulfilled his medical education in Ege University Medical School, one of the top three medical schools in Turkey. He did his surgical internship in Dokuz Eylul University Urology Department and then he started his residency in 1992, in Ege University Medical School Deparment of Plastic Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery. He finished his residency and became a specialist in the field of plastic surgery in 1999.
During his residency, in 1998, he has been granted the research fellowship in the department of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, in Emory University, Atlanta, Georgia, USA. During his fellowship he has conducted scinentific research on Endoscopic Plastic Surgery, Microsurgery and Reconstructive (post-mastectomy) Breast Surgery. During this period he also was a part of the operating teams in Emory Clinic and Paces Plastic Surgery Center which are among the leading centers for plastic surgery in USA. He had the chance to operate together and learn from wellknown plastic surgeons such as Dr. John Bostwick III, Dr. Glyn Jones, Dr. Foad Nahai, Dr. Clinton Mc Cord and Dr. Road Hester and he further refined his technique in maxillofacial and orthognathic surgery; liposuction and body contouring surgery; aesthetic surgery of the face, nose, breast and periorbital area. During his stay he has been awarded with two research grants totaling 240.000 $ for conduction of two pioneering studies which have been published in scientific journals later on.
He is a board certified member of the Turkish Association of Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery. He is also a member of the Turkish Society o f Aesthetic Surgery, Turkish Association of Reconstructive Microsurgery and Wound Care Society.
He is also a member of EURAPS, the European Association of Plastic Surgery, and BAPRAS, the Balkan Association of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery.
He is a fluent English speaker. He is married and has a son
